Your GDPR Rights

Last updated: March 12, 2026

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR — EU Regulation 2016/679), you have specific rights regarding your personal data. SoClose Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”, or “our”), as the data controller of ScrapMe.io, is committed to helping you exercise these rights.

This page explains each of your rights, how to exercise them, and what to expect when you submit a request.

1. Right of Access (Article 15)

You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether your personal data is being processed and, if so, to access that data along with the following information:

  • The purposes of the processing
  • The categories of personal data concerned
  • The recipients or categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed
  • The envisaged retention period
  • The existence of your other rights (rectification, erasure, restriction, objection)
  • The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
  • Where applicable, the source of the data and the existence of automated decision-making

We will provide you with a copy of your personal data free of charge. Additional copies may be subject to a reasonable administrative fee.

2. Right to Rectification (Article 16)

You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal data and the completion of incomplete personal data. You can update most of your account information directly from your dashboard settings. For other corrections, please contact us.

3. Right to Erasure / Right to Be Forgotten (Article 17)

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data when one of the following applies:

  • The data is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected
  • You withdraw your consent and there is no other legal basis for processing
  • You object to processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds
  • The data has been unlawfully processed
  • The data must be erased to comply with a legal obligation

Please note that we may need to retain certain data to comply with legal obligations (e.g., billing records for tax purposes) or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

4. Right to Data Portability (Article 20)

You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (e.g., JSON or CSV). You also have the right to request that we transmit this data directly to another controller where technically feasible.

This right applies to data you have provided to us, where the processing is based on your consent or a contract and is carried out by automated means.

5. Right to Restriction of Processing (Article 18)

You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • You contest the accuracy of the data — restriction applies while we verify accuracy
  • The processing is unlawful but you oppose erasure and request restriction instead
  • We no longer need the data but you require it for legal claims
  • You have objected to processing — restriction applies pending verification of whether our legitimate grounds override yours

6. Right to Object (Article 21)

You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data based on our legitimate interests. We will cease processing unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing is necessary for legal claims.

Where personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time, and we will stop processing your data for such purposes without exception.

7. Right to Withdraw Consent

Where we rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

You can withdraw cookie consent at any time by clicking “Manage cookies” in the footer of our website.

8. How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of the rights described above, please contact us using one of the following methods:

When submitting a request, please include:

  • Your full name and email address associated with your account
  • A clear description of the right you wish to exercise
  • Any relevant details to help us locate and process your request

We may need to verify your identity before processing your request to protect your data from unauthorized access.

9. Response Times

We will respond to your request within 30 days of receipt, as required by the GDPR. If your request is particularly complex or if we receive a large number of requests, we may extend this period by a further two months. In that case, we will inform you of the extension and the reasons within the initial 30-day period.

Exercising your rights is free of charge. However, if requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive (e.g., repetitive), we may charge a reasonable administrative fee or refuse to act on the request.

10. Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe that our processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You may do so in the EU/EEA member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement.

A list of EU/EEA data protection authorities can be found on the European Data Protection Board website.

We encourage you to contact us first at privacy@scrapme.io so we can try to resolve your concern directly.
